Morristown Hamblen Emergency Medical Services Paramedics responded to 7200 calls for non-emergency and emergency assistance last year.  The majoriity of which were handled through the 9-1-1 Center. Responding to wrecks, heart attacks, respiratory distress, strokes, shootings & stabbings are but a few of the types of calls medics respond to.

We provided services to the 58,000 residents of Hamblen County.  All areas of Hamblen County have FIRST RESONDER programs staffed by city and county volunteer fire departments as well as the Morristown Rescue Squad.  These agencies provide BLS treatment even before ambulances arrive on scene.

Morristown-Hamblen EMS has three stations.  The central station is located in town on North Jackson Street.  This is also where the business office is located.  The East station is located in Russellville on East Andrew Johnson Hwy.  The West station is located in Talbott on Panda Drive.  This allows us to respond from the station and have an ambulance typically on-scene within less than six minutes.  We also have mutual aid agreements with surrounding counties for assistance when needed.

Moristown-Hamblen EMS is a non-profit organization started in 1982 by the Morristown Emergency Rescue Squad.  The Service has expanded since then and has four 24 hour trucks available 7 days a week and one day truck available Monday- Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.  The trucks are staffed with one Paramedic and at least one Emergency Medical Technician-IV.  The services has 32 full time employees. This includes 18 Paramedics, 10 EMT-IVs and 4 Office staff.  The service is governed by an EMS Committee that is made up of 16 people.  The chairman of the committee is Clark Taylor.  The committee mets once a month for regular  business meetings.
